Everyday curriculum
At Bright & Busy Day Care, we follow the New York State Early Learning Guidelines. Incorporating these necessary components, which include all main early childhood domains, to be able to develop a well-rounded and thriving curriculum that keeps the children interested and excited to learn. Each month, the children will be introduced to a new unit theme, based on their interests. With careful observations and assessments, the children will learn through engaging activities and lessons, in both large and small groups.
Our curriculum is based on the various Early Childhood Development Theorists, that believed that children learn best through play, active engagement, and socializing. The school day is filled with an assortment of learning activities and experiences that help your child gain the necessary tools needed to excel during these formative years.

Language & Literacy
At Bright & Busy Daycare, Language & Literacy is very important to us. We feel that creating a secure foundation in the beginning stages of language helps children develop a rich vocabulary, self-expression, and strong reading comprehension skills. More importantly, it gives your child the ability to communicate! Our program includes routine activities of literacy that work on developing the skills of letter recognition, phonological/ phonemic awareness, an appreciation for books and print concepts, listening comprehension, using an expressive vocabulary, and more!
Arts & crafts
Art is a special time for children, as it allows them the opportunity to be creative and free with their imagination. During Center Time, every day, the children will have access to a variety of art materials (paint, play-doh, crafting materials, glue, dot markers, etc.) to discover and design anything they can dream of! During small or large group lessons, the children may have a more structured art lesson. During this time, they will be encouraged to create their version of a suggested art craft that the teacher has prepared. However, still making it "Their own", as authentic art is very important to us. We want the children to always feel like they have the space to create something unique to them.
Social-Emotional
In Early Childhood Education, one of the most significant areas of development is Social-Emotional. In our program, children spend their day socializing and interacting with their peers, in various activities and play settings. During this time, children work on skills such as regulating emotions, sharing with others, following limits and expectations, solving social problems, and more.

Mathematics
Math is part of children’s everyday lives. Taking advantage of each of these moments develops math learning. Math is measuring, sorting, building, noticing patterns, making comparisons, and describing the environment, as well as counting and identifying shapes. These are skills the children will work on throughout their day here at Bright & Busy Daycare.

Science & Social Studies
Science encourages and teaches children how to discover and wonder about everything in the world around them. Through experimentation and exploration, children can expose themselves to many new things. During this time, they work on skills such as working together as a team, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving. Social Studies is necessary as children begin to learn and develop a basic understanding of self, people, and how they live. As well as understanding the roles and responsibilities of those in their community.

Coding for Kids
Coding, in Early Childhood, is a creative process where you make something from scratch. This compels children to use their imagination, ability, and skills all at the same time. As part of our Pre-k program at Bright & Busy, we offer the children opportunities to learn coding, not only on the computer but unplugged as well
